It’s summer all year round in Miami. But back in the Netherlands, the land of our heritage, florists are already looking forward to spring. Here’s what makes spring flowers in the Netherlands so special… And if you like the sound of that, check out our list of cruises to Holland in 2020.
What to look out for
Of course, Holland is most famous for its tulips. Spring is the best time of year to see these flowers come into bloom!
Keukenhof is one of the world’s largest flower gardens, located close to Amsterdam and Haarlem. Visit between March and May to see the tulips in bloom, as well as the garden’s famous castle and waters. Amsterdam itself is also worth a visit. Don’t miss the city’s famous floating flower market, or the annual tulip festival!
Finally, if you have enough time, try to get out to the Noordoostpolder region. This has become one of the most important zones for growing flowers in the Netherlands in modern times. Many flower farms offer guided tours during the spring season.
